[wpcf-summary-description] => Clare Pollard says: Jenny’s poem is brilliantly atmospheric. There’s a real sense of mystery and anticipation. The verbs are particularly good – I like how the cold ‘climbs’ through her feet, echoing her own climb, and the roses that ‘struggle’ for light. It reminds me of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast – everything in the castle is somehow alive. Even the writing desks whisper. I’m left imagining what they might say – what secrets does this castle know?
