Closed for 2019. The University of Hertfordshire is delighted to announce the launch of the second Single Poem Prize. The first prize was launched in 2018, in conjunction with the University’s Poetry Hub, founded in 2017 to encourage the development and study of contemporary poetics. Judged by Hub fellows Rachel Long, Mark Waldron, and chaired by Wayne Holloway-Smith, the prize is open to anyone living in the UK, and free to enter in the interests of fairness and inclusivity.There is no minimum length, but poems should not exceed 42 lines, excluding title, lines between text/ stanza breaks. The Prize is open to writers living in the UK, writing in English, and 16 years old and over at the time of the closing date.
