  1. HELLO, I really need some advice or someone to read this. I have someone very important to me and she is a amazing poet. She loves to write and plans taking it for college. Is it possible that you could take a read of her stuff and just give some feedback or maybe post it as a submission? Please get back to me ASAP.

    1. Hi Leah,

Thanks for your comment. Although Young Poets Network are not affiliated with streetcake magazine, they are now accepting submissions. To find out how to submit, go to their website: https://www.streetcakemagazine.com/

If your friend is aged 11-17, she is eligible for the Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award, with life-changing prizes such as mentoring, poetry books and more: foyleyoungpoets.org It’s one of the biggest competitions for young poets in the world and she could get published in an anthology which has one of the biggest print runs of any free anthology.

We would also love to receive poetry by you or your friend in our free Young Poets Network challenges. You might be interested in the challenge we currently have open, inspired by the enigmatic and inviting work of poet W.S. Graham. Enter a Cloud, Imagine a Forest now: bit.ly/wsgchallenge

And another asks for responses to Freud’s Civilisation and Its Discontents – learn more on the challenge page and enter by 15 July: bit.ly/freudchallenge

She can also get inspired by the Timothy Corsellis Prize, responding to poets of the Second World War: bit.ly/corsellis18

Winners and commended poets in Young Poets Network challenges are published on our website for thousands to view all around the world.

To keep up to date on all we offer young poets, you can also join our free mailing list: ypn.poetrysociety.org.uk/sign-up-to-young-poets-network/

I hope this is helpful, and best of luck to your friend!

      Best wishes,

      Helen at Young Poets Network
