From early morning writing workshops with the festival directors, through to evening events with international poetry stars, every day of Kendal Poetry Festival is packed with readings, talks, open mikes, panel discussions, talks, stage shows and more.
The festival began in 2016 and ran through to 2018 under the leadership of Kim Moore and Pauline Yarwood. The festival returns again from the 19th-28th February 2021 with Kim Moore and Clare Shaw as co-directors of the festival. With our trademark emphasis on inclusivity and accessibility, we continue to offer free tickets to young people and people with disabilities. We have extended our offer to include all local care home staff and residents, we have expanded our Open Doors scheme, and a proportion of our events are free of charge to all participants. We are also offering a Festival Pass for £60. This pass will give you access to twenty readings – saving you a huge £40 (if you bought each ticket individually).
