Bedtime Stories for the End of the World

Bedtime stories for the end of the world - applications now open

Closed for 2020, check back in Winter 2021.

The Bedtime Stories for the End of the World podcast is looking for 9 emerging poets to take part in their third series in Spring 2021.

Successful applicants will work alongside some of UK’s top poets, including: Mona Arshi, Fiona Benson, Joe Dunthorne, Momtaza Mehri and more to be announced. The project is supported by writer development agency Spread the Word.

Called “beautifully nerdy” by BBC Radio 4, the series commissions poets to re-imagine traditional stories, myths and fairytales for these troubled times.

We’re looking for 9 emerging poets to join our project and produce a 5-7 minute poem for the upcoming series. Participants will receive a £300 fee for this commission, and will take part in an online workshop and recording alongside one of our lead artists.
