Deadline: Friday 30 September 2016. Open to all young poets across Suffolk, 18 years old and under. Pupils may submit poems based on any theme, up to a maximum of 30 lines.
There are two categories:
- Junior (7-11)
- Senior (12-18)
The strongest entries will be shortlisted to be read aloud on the afternoon of Wednesday 2 November in the Seckford Theatre. The judges for this year’s competition are both highly regarded local poets; Fred Ellis of Poetry Anglia, and Ian Griffiths, the former Chair of the Suffolk Poetry Society. They will also then be part of an Open Mic event that the School will be running at the new Poetry in Aldeburgh Festival the following weekend.
The winning poems will also be published in the East Anglian Daily Times.
