Poetry Rivals

Reopening 2017. Poetry Rivals is open to all poets in the UK  and has categories for both under 18s and 18 and over. Note: there is an entry fee for adult entrants.

Under 18s

Entrants are invited to submit a poem on any subject and in any poetic style. Whether you want to put the world to rights through rap, make people laugh with a humorous verse or maybe show your softer side by writing a love piece about someone special, we want to read it!

You could find yourself performing in front of a panel of judges and a live audience, with the chance of bagging one of these top prizes – your height in books (Under 12s), or the choice of an aspiring author package or £500 (12 Plus)!

30 shortlisted finalists will then be invited to the Poetry Rivals live slam. Here they will perform their poems to guest judges and a live audience. The winner will be crowned at the live slam and win a Pamphlet Publishing Package with Burning Eye Books.
