Young poets are being invited to write about their heroes for the Black Chair Centenary Poetry Competition, a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the 1917 Royal National Eisteddfod of Wales, in memory of 1917 poet winner Hedd Wyn, who died at Ypres just weeks before the prize was announced.
Free to enter. Open to young people between the ages of 11 and 19. Poems on the subject of ‘The Hero’ must be original and no longer than 50 lines. Closed.
