Bedtime Stories for the End of the World is an opportunity for 12 emerging poets to take part in developing a series of poetry podcast.

Each episode will feature the work of some of the UK’s top poets: Inua Ellams, Miriam Nash, Kayo Chingonyi, Rachel Long, Joelle Taylor and Jay Bernard.

“Myths are the stories we devise to explain things we can’t understand, and to bring order to worlds we cannot control. In these troubled times, we ask poets to re-write the myths, fairytales and legends they want to preserve for future generations. What kind of stories can help us survive the turmoil? How might they differ from the stories we’ve inherited?”

They’re looking for 12 emerging poets to join the project and to collaborate closely with one of the lead artists and to each produce a 5-10 minute poem(s). Participants will all receive a £300 fee for this commission.

Applications are now open. Deadline 5pm, 12 January 2018.
