      1. Hi Julie,

Thanks for your comment. Young Poets Network is not affiliated with most of the opportunities on our opportunities pages and you can find out more about these by following the links included on the page. Here’s the link for the Barnet Junior Open Poetry Competition if you’d like to get in touch with them: http://www.barnetarts.org.uk/bbac/index_main.htm

However, we would love to receive poetry by you in our free Young Poets Network challenges. Get inspired by the Timothy Corsellis Prize, responding to poets of the Second World War: bit.ly/corsellis18

Plus, we have FOUR August challenges open at the moment, written by young poets:
        – Our first August challenge is written by Enshia Li and explores the weird and wonderful world of the prose poem. Find out more and try your hand at writing prose poetry: bit.ly/augchall1
        – Our second August challenge is all about found poetry – poems made from texts that already exist, such as newspapers, books, tweets – whatever you can think of! Discover more and enter: bit.ly/augchall2
        – Our third August challenge is on national identity and poetry – think more deeply about how you fit into your country, and the role of patriotism today and over the last 200 years in this latest challenge by Damayanti Chatterjee, and by responding to this you can enter the Timothy Corsellis Prize: bit.ly/augchall3
        – And our fourth August challenge is all about vernacular: the language you speak and use online, rather than the formal stuff you might write down. What words do you use colloquially and how can you use those in a poem? bit.ly/augchall4

To keep up to date on all we offer young poets, you can also join our free mailing list: ypn.poetrysociety.org.uk/sign-up-to-young-poets-network/

I hope this is helpful, and best of luck with your writing!

        Best wishes,

        Helen at Young Poets Network

    1. Hi Lucy,

Thanks for your messages. I’ve looked at the website (this competition is not run by YPN) and it looks like the competition is open now, with a deadline of November 14th 2017. If you click ‘Entry Forms / Info’ on the left-hand sidebar, the right-hand sidebar will show you links to ‘Judges’, ‘Rules’ and the ‘Entry Form’ you have to complete to enter.

I hope that helps! If you have any more questions, I would email them at info@barnetarts.org.uk.

Best of luck in the competition!

      Helen
